Pastor’s Reflection for November 6, 2016

Dear Parishioners,

I would like to bring to your attention and remind you of some of the many opportunities we offer to assist you in your faith formation and spiritual growth.

·  Web site: Our web site allows you to stay in touch with us even when you are away. You can read the bulletin online to get the latest information, view the weekend Mass, or hear the latest media available from FORMED, our online faith formation subscription.

·  Tithing: We ask that you participate in the spiritual principle of giving the Lord 10% of your income. Tithing reminds us that we place our trust in the Lord to provide for our needs for He is the source of all good gifts. I only ask for a percentage of your tithe, that you help support our need of $15,000 a week to pay for our expenses without the need of added collections. I am thankful for your response to this so I can spend my time in preaching the Word.  I ask that you consider electronic giving as it helps us in preparing our yearly budget with the knowledge of what we will receive as income.

·  Adoration: We have Eucharistic Adoration on weekdays from 10 a.m. -Midnight (except on Wednesday – ends at 6 p.m. and Friday ends at 10:30 p.m.) I ask for each family to consider being represented for 30 minutes a week Chapel Monstrancebefore the Lord. This allows for the exposition of the Eucharist to be available to the community and it also shows hospitality to the Lord who resides in this parish in a special way in the Eucharist. If you are able to make a commitment at a special time each week, please inform the rectory. Then we will know that someone will be present at that time slot. I thank all who have made the commitment to this ministry.

·  Daily Mass: We have daily Mass each day at 6:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.  (Saturday only 9 a.m.) I ask that you consider making weekday Mass part of your spiritual life (daily or occasionally). It is a way to listen to Scriptures, offer sacrifice to the Lord and to receive the body and blood of Jesus as food for the journey to the kingdom of heaven.

I will be available for confession this week on Wednesday, November 9, from 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

May Jesus continue to shepherd you in all of your needs.

God love you,
