Pastor’s Reflection for July 19, 2015
Since it is summertime I would like to repeat the notice from last weekend about the Bible series that will begin this Tuesday.
We will be offering a 4 week course on “Unlocking The Mystery Of The Bible,” by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer beginning this Tuesday, July 21, at 7:00 p.m. This program will help discover the remarkable connection between the Old and New Testament. You will see how the Sacraments, the Church and our entire Catholic faith are rooted in Scripture. This program will also help you to make sense of the Bible and see how it relates to everyday life. St. Jerome says, “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” Please take advantage of these opportunities which can help you to read and understand the Scriptures.
Also, please remember we have the online adult faith formation website available called Symbolon. The featured programs available online are “Knowing The Faith” and “Living the Faith,” as well as two marriage programs. They are excellent in their teaching. If you would like to view these programs, please use the Symbolon website link;
http://symboloncatholic.org/register. If you do not already have the parish code to enter, please contact the rectory at 781-245-5770 for our parish code to access this program.
This week I announce a going away and a coming aboard in the parish. Fr. Jim has informed me of a new assignment that he will be accepting beginning next month. It has been a pleasure to have Fr. Jim as part of our weekend staff and he will be missed. He sent a letter that he would like read by the community. You can find this letter on page 5 of this weekend’s bulletin.
I also wish to announce that Carissa Scudieri has taken the position of our new Youth Minister. As you know, Julie Vasquez, our former Youth Minister moved to the Caribbean to do mission work with her husband. Carissa will be introducing herself at all the Masses this weekend and she also included a letter as an insert in the bulletin.
I will be available for confession this week on Monday, July 20, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
May Jesus continue to shepherd you in all of your needs.
God love you,
